Leaving a blog unattended for so long I assumed there would be a fair amount of spam. And yes, quite a few did manage to get through the system. However, when I went to check Akismet, it had caught an amazing 10,720 spam comments. It certainly made cleaning up the other spam comments a lot easier.

Define Blog is very prone to spam because the word “blog” is very popular with comment and trackback spammers. They have managed to figure out the systems of most blogs and have programs that will detect what type of blog system it is running on and post the comment spam accordingly. If you have been eagerly awaiting the MSN AdCenter launch, I just heard right from MSN that it just went live for the US. The initial group is a small group of self-service advertisers, with more advertisers being added every week.
